Barfly

Celeb Sighting: Last weekend was apparently athlete's night out at Harry O's, MB. Some Lakers were spotted there on Friday and some Kings were seen on Saturday. When questioned they all agreed that they had come in just for the food. Yeah right, try telling that one to Phil and Andy...

Coming Soon: Pizzeria Gusto in the space previously occupied by Greens veg resto in Redondo. Because the resto is coming from the Melange Group, we should expect something great.

Closing: Rinaldi's Hermosa - so much for my fave sandwich. Ex-volleyball dude Jeff "Jazzy" Bellandi and local restaurateur Chris Pike of Sangria, 12th Street Grill, Side Door and Las Palmas, (Hollywood), have teamed up to turn the sandwich shop into a taqueria to be called, "Los Olas," meaning, "The Waves." Should be open in time for daylight savings. Another late-nite choice for us bar hoppers... Trivia: What is the best food pairing with Champagne? Answer next week...

Zoo Station Update: This week-end at 705, Pier Ave, HB, the Zoo Station is bringing to town a real treat: seems they found this little kid, (he can't be more than ten years old), named Adam Ho, who not only plays electric guitar but WAILS on it! Apparently he was spotted at the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica where he had traffic stopped jamming Hendrix, Santana, everything. Will make you wish you'd listened when Mom told you to keep practicing that piano...

Thursday Event: Tonight, March 9 catch A Flock of Seagulls performing live at Chillers, RB. Wow - flashback. I can't wait to see what they look and sound like now. It's been about 15 years since their blond mohawk MTV days. You know, I even have one of their albums on VINYL, though, I don't have anything on which to play it. Show starts approx. 10pm...

Friday Event: Join the South Bay Sport and Social Club tomorrow, March 10 at Harry O's, MB for a pre-St. Patty's Day Party. $8 members/$10 non-cover gets you unlimited Bud/Bud Light from 7-10pm and one comp JD cocktail. Stay late for Catch-22...

Graduation: Seems I am now a full-fledged bonafide writer as I roused some angry reactions with a few of my "Deb L. Awards" last week. If you are one of those people who took some kind of offense, please put down this paper, find a flashlight and search your home to locate where you misplaced your sense of humor. Geez...
