Longtime community member, Martyrs parishioner, passes

Olga Anna Noor, a longtime community member who was very active in the American Martyrs parish, passed away Feb. 10. She was 91.

She was born on June 27, 1916, in Lincoln Heights, Los Angeles, to Italian immigrants Benjamino and Cesira Raimondo. In 1940 she married a USC football player from Kansas named Dennis Noor, and after the war years they made their home in Hermosa Beach in 1950.

Olga Noor was an active member of the community, including the American Martyrs parish, for more than a half-century. Loved ones said she loved life, with God, family, friends, the beach, and daily walks on the Strand at the top of her list.

She is survived by children Dennis “Duke” Noor and Amie (Dave) Beisel, grandsons Andrew and Aaron Beisel, niece Stephanie Bushnell Morenberg (Steve), cousin Esther Wildenberg (and family), numerous relatives in California, Kansas, and Vercelli, Italy.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Dennis, and her sister, Emma Bushnell. ER
