Utility undergrounding
A public meeting for property owners in Utility Underground District 8 to introduce the assessment method of apportionment for their district will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Joslyn Community Center located at 1601 North Valley Drive. District 8 is the area bounded by 8th Street to 15th Street from The Strand to Manhattan Avenue. City staff and the city’s assessment engineer, Harris & Associates, will be presenting an overview of the schedule of events for District 8, assessment methodology, and current 2009 estimated assessment ranges.

Event cancelled
The Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce has cancelled its Speaker Series event featuring Dick Heatherton this Thursday. Chamber President Helen Duncan said the limited number of RSVPs forced the cancellation.

Grow grows up
GROW The Produce Shop celebrates its third anniversary Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free samplings of appetizers, cheeses and salads.
